Clermont rises above Central Florida’s rolling lake country about 35 minutes west of downtown Orlando, offering a quieter, more scenic base within easy reach of the area’s theme parks. Lake Louisa State Park spreads across more than 4,300 acres for hiking, biking, paddling, and glamping along the South Lake Trail, while the Citrus Tower gives visitors a bird’s-eye view over Clermont’s rolling groves.
Families can pick their own oranges, lemons, and limes at Showcase of Citrus between November and May, or visit the quirky Presidents Hall of Fame with its replicas of the White House and Mount Rushmore. Lakeridge Winery, Florida’s largest premium winery, offers tastings and tours seven days a week.
Clermont is a year-round destination thanks to its Central Florida climate, though spring and fall bring the mildest temperatures and smaller crowds, making them the most comfortable seasons for outdoor exploring.
