Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California traces its roots to a 1920s roadside berry stand and chicken restaurant that grew into one of America’s first theme parks, predating Disneyland by over a decade. That Old West heritage still shapes the park today, most visibly in its Ghost Town area of preserved historic buildings and gold-rush-themed attractions.
The park is organized into themed lands including Ghost Town, Fiesta Village, The Boardwalk, and Camp Snoopy, home to Peanuts-themed rides for younger visitors. Thrill-seekers gravitate toward coasters like GhostRider, a wooden coaster winding through Ghost Town, and Xcelerator, a high-speed launch coaster on the Boardwalk.
Knott’s also operates California’s only Halloween-specific event of its scale, Knott’s Scary Farm, each fall, along with seasonal Christmas programming. A full visit with rides, shows, and dining typically fills most of a day.
