ICONSIAM is Bangkok’s flagship riverside mega-mall, rising on the western bank of the Chao Phraya River in the Khlong San district. Spread across 10 stories and more than 7,000 shops, it pairs high-end international and luxury boutiques with a dedicated showcase of Thai craftsmanship, drawing both destination shoppers and locals out for an evening. The scale is part of the appeal: whole floors are devoted to different experiences, from fashion atriums to a cinema and a convention center, so a single visit can easily fill an afternoon.
The signature attraction is SOOKSIAM, an indoor floating market that recreates a traditional Thai canal-side bazaar under one roof, complete with regional street food stalls and handmade goods like herbal body care and handwoven textiles. Outside, the riverfront comes alive most evenings with a free light-and-water show, and the mall doubles as an open-air gallery with installations from more than 100 Thai and international artists.
ICONSIAM connects directly to the BTS Gold Line at Charoen Nakhon station, and Sathorn Pier on the opposite bank runs a free shuttle boat straight to the mall’s own pier, making it an easy add-on to a Chao Phraya river day.
