Berlin Cathedral, or Berliner Dom, is a grand Protestant church on Museum Island, built at the turn of the 20th century as the principal court church of the Hohenzollern dynasty.
Its Italian Renaissance-style dome and lavishly decorated interior make it one of Berlin’s most striking buildings, and visitors can also descend to the Hohenzollern crypt, home to nearly 100 sarcophagi of Prussian royals. Climbing the dome’s gallery rewards visitors with panoramic views over central Berlin.
The cathedral is generally open from 9:00 AM, closing at 8:00 PM in summer and 7:00 PM in winter, though on Sundays and public holidays it opens to visitors only from noon due to services. A standard ticket includes an audio guide and is valid for a year from purchase.
