MALBA (Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires) is Argentina’s leading modern art museum, built around the Costantini Foundation’s collection of more than 400 works by 20th-century Latin American artists.
Housed in a striking modernist building in the Palermo neighborhood, the museum’s holdings include pieces by Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, and Argentine painter Antonio Berni, alongside rotating contemporary exhibitions and a well-regarded arthouse cinema. Its manageable size makes it possible to see the entire permanent collection in a single visit without feeling rushed.
MALBA is open daily except Tuesdays from noon to 8 p.m., with later opening at 11 a.m. on Wednesdays, when admission is discounted and free for students, teachers, and seniors.
