Torre del Reloj, the Clock Tower, is the main gateway into Cartagena’s walled Old City in Colombia, built between 1601 and 1631 as a fortified entrance originally known as Boca del Puente. Its clock was added in the early 18th century, giving the monument its current name.

The eight-sided Baroque tower, rebuilt in 1704 after partial destruction in 1697, stands 26 meters tall and is painted golden-yellow with white trim. Three open archways form the passage between the Getsemani neighborhood and the historic walled city, making it one of Cartagena’s most photographed landmarks.

As a public monument and city gate rather than a ticketed attraction, Torre del Reloj is accessible at any time, and the plaza around it stays lively with street performers and vendors well into the evening.
