Dona Paula View Point is a clifftop lookout in the town of Dona Paula, just outside Panaji, offering sweeping views over the Arabian Sea where it meets Mormugao Harbour. The spot is anchored by the whitewashed “Image of India” statue, depicting Mother India and Young India, which has become a popular photo stop.
Below the viewpoint sits a small beach and jetty, and the surrounding hillside is dotted with cafes, souvenir stalls selling straw hats, spices, and lace, and vendors offering jet-skiing and parasailing for visitors who want to get out on the water. Sunset is the busiest and most rewarding time to visit, when the sky over the harbour turns orange and pink.
The viewpoint is generally accessible daily from around 6 AM to 10 PM, with a small entry fee for the paved viewing area. It’s an easy add-on to a day spent around Panaji or Miramar Beach, and works well as a late-afternoon stop timed to catch the sunset.
