Tiroler MuseumsBahnen is a volunteer-run railway museum in the former Stubaitalbahnhof in Innsbruck’s Wilten district, at the foot of the Bergisel hill. It preserves the history of Tyrol’s local railways and trams, and it draws rail enthusiasts and families who want to see Innsbruck’s transit history up close.
Three exhibition rooms trace the region’s lines through photographs, documents and detailed models. Exhibits cover the Stubaital Railway, the Mittelgebirgsbahn up to Igls and the old Innsbruck–Hall tram. In the historic depot, restored tramcars and railcars sit on original tracks. On selected days, the association runs its “Museum Line”, a century-old tram that carries passengers through Innsbruck’s streets. The museum holds a 4.1-star rating from 74 reviews (source: TripByMood).
