Aquarium of the Pacific is a large marine life aquarium in Long Beach, California, home to roughly 11,000 aquatic animals across more than 50 exhibits focused on the Pacific Ocean’s habitats, from tropical reefs to the frigid waters off Alaska. It is one of the most visited aquariums in the United States.
The aquarium is open daily from 9am to 6pm. For a quieter visit, arriving right at opening or after 3pm tends to mean smaller crowds, especially on weekends and school holidays.
Its size means most visitors need real time to see the major exhibits without rushing, and the aquarium regularly adds special exhibits and animal encounters that can extend a visit further.
