Black Cat Sidewalk

Nestled in the streets of Los Angeles, the Black Cat Sidewalk stands as a poignant reminder of the city’s rich LGBTQ+ history. This unassuming stretch of pavement played a pivotal role in the early gay rights movement, marking the site of a significant protest predating the famous Stonewall riots. Today, visitors can walk in the footsteps of courageous activists who stood up for equality and human rights. The sidewalk, now adorned with commemorative plaques, offers a unique opportunity to connect with an often-overlooked chapter of Los Angeles’ past. Whether you’re a history buff or simply curious about the city’s diverse heritage, the Black Cat Sidewalk provides a thought-provoking stop on any urban exploration of LA.
