Niagara Falls State Park on the American side is free and open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, year-round. Individual attractions inside the park keep their own seasonal hours — Goat Island is open sunrise to midnight daily, and the Niagara Falls Welcome Center runs roughly 8am–8pm (later on weekends) in summer, shorter in winter.
The park is the oldest state park in the U.S. and gives close-up views of American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls. Seasonal highlights include Cave of the Winds (walkways at the base of the falls), Maid of the Mist boat tours, and the Observation Tower, most of which run roughly April through October or November.
Because the park itself never closes, sunrise and dusk are the quietest times to see the falls, while the seasonal attractions are best tackled midday when they’re fully staffed.
