Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a 580-acre theme park at Walt Disney World in Bay Lake, Florida, blending a zoo, botanical garden, and thrill rides across lands themed to Africa, Asia, and the fictional world of Pandora. The park’s centerpiece is the 145-foot Tree of Life, and its most acclaimed attraction is Avatar Flight of Passage, a flying-simulator ride consistently ranked among Disney’s best.
Top experiences include the Kilimanjaro Safaris truck ride through a 110-acre savanna with free-roaming giraffes, zebras, and elephants; Expedition Everest, a fast roller coaster through the Himalayas; and Na’vi River Journey, a gentle boat ride through bioluminescent Pandora rainforest. Live shows like Festival of the Lion King add cultural spectacle.
The park opens earlier than other Disney World parks to catch animals at their most active, so arriving at rope-drop is worth it. Comfortable walking shoes are essential given the park’s size, and Genie+ or Lightning Lane passes help skip lines on Flight of Passage and Everest.
