Lake of Dreams is the Wynn Las Vegas’s free after-dark spectacle. It is a hidden three-acre lake behind a man-made mountain at 3131 Las Vegas Blvd S. Each evening, light, music, projections and puppetry transform a towering waterfall into a surreal short film. Note that the aquatic ballet and aerial stunts sometimes attributed to it belonged to Le Rêve, the Wynn’s in-the-round water show, which closed in 2020.
The setting is the draw. A curtain of water spills roughly 40 feet down a forested cliff into a still, mirror-black lake. Thousands of embedded lights and projection-mapped imagery ripple across the falls, synchronized to songs that range from classic crooners to pop. Some shows feature oversized animatronic surprises, including a giant frog and a sculpted head rising from the water. These whimsical touches keep kids glued to the railings. Shows last only a few minutes, so short attention spans are rarely an issue.
Visitor Highlights & Practical Info
Performances typically begin after dusk and repeat about every 30 minutes until late evening. Confirm current times with Wynn before you go. The lake is not visible from the Strip, so head inside toward the casino’s lakeside venues. Parasol Up and Parasol Down bars offer the easiest views for the price of a cocktail. Lakeside and SW Steakhouse put dinner tables at the water’s edge, and reservations are wise on weekends. Arrive early on Friday and Saturday nights to claim a good viewing spot. Afterward, walk next door to Encore, or stroll the Fashion Show mall across the boulevard.
