The Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign is a free, outdoor landmark accessible 24 hours a day at 5100 Las Vegas Boulevard South, with no admission gate or entry fee.
Designed by artist Betty Willis and installed in 1959, the 25-foot neon sign was left unattended for years until a nearby motel owner ran a power line to it and switched it on himself. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2009.
Early morning, roughly 3am to 6am, and late night are the best times to photograph the sign without crowds, and after dark its classic neon glow captures the atmosphere the Strip is known for. A small first-come, first-served parking lot serves the site.
