Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park sits on the Bukit Peninsula in Ungasan, Badung Regency, Bali, and is home to the 121-meter Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue depicting the Hindu god Vishnu riding the mythical eagle Garuda. Completed in 2018 after decades of construction, it ranks among the tallest statues in the world, taller than both the Statue of Liberty and Christ the Redeemer.
The surrounding 60-hectare cultural park blends monumental sculpture with Balinese heritage programming, including daily traditional dance performances such as the Kecak fire dance, most popular in the late afternoon when the statue is lit by the setting sun. Limestone cliffs, amphitheaters, and exhibition halls throughout the grounds add historical and artistic context to the main statue.
General admission runs around IDR 150,000, with optional upgrades for closer statue access. Most visitors plan a late-afternoon visit to combine cooler temperatures with a sunset performance, making the park one of southern Bali’s signature cultural stops.
