The Berlin TV Tower (Fernsehturm) is the tallest structure in Germany at 368 meters, built in the 1960s and topped by a distinctive silver sphere that has become one of Berlin’s most recognizable landmarks. Inside the sphere, an observation deck at 203 meters offers panoramic views over the city, and on clear days visibility can extend up to 80 kilometers.

The tower is open daily from 9am to midnight, with extended hours to 1am in summer, and the observation deck completes a slow full rotation roughly every 30 minutes near the connected Sphere Restaurant. A high-speed lift reaches the viewing level in about 40 seconds. Standard tickets run from roughly 25 euros online, with a faster “Fast View” priority ticket available for busier periods.

Crowds are heaviest around midday, so early morning or evening visits tend to be calmer and offer better lighting for photos, especially at sunset. The tower closes for scheduled maintenance on a couple of fixed dates each year, so it’s worth checking the official site before visiting on an unusual date.
