Tineretului Park, known in English as Youth Park, is a 94-hectare green space in southern Bucharest’s Sector 4, built between 1965 and 1974 on what was once a marshy dumping ground nicknamed the “Valley of Lamentation.”
Today the park is the main recreational area for the south of the city, centered on a lake where visitors can rent rowboats. It also includes the National Children’s Palace, the Stela Popescu Theater, and the Polyvalent Hall, along with sports grounds for football, basketball, tennis, and skateboarding, plus a jogging track on its eastern side.
The park is easy to reach via the Tineretului metro station and is popular with local families for weekend outings, exercise, and outdoor performances.
