The Marble Mountains (Ngũ Hành Sơn) are a cluster of five limestone and marble hills south of Da Nang, each named for one of the five elements, riddled with caves and Buddhist and Hindu shrines carved into the rock.
Thuy Son, the largest and most visited peak, holds the bulk of the pagodas and caves, including the atmospheric Huyen Khong Cave with its skylight and altars, reachable by stone steps or a paid elevator; the surrounding villages are also known for centuries-old marble and stone carving workshops.
The site is open daily from roughly 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with a standard entrance fee plus separate elevator and cave-access charges; comfortable shoes are recommended given the uneven stone stairways throughout.
