Leilani’s on the Beach is an open-air seafood restaurant at Whalers Village in Kāʻanapali, directly on Kāʻanapali Beach just north of Lahaina town. Part of the TS Restaurants family behind Duke’s and Hula Grill, it draws couples, families and fish lovers with fresh island catch, tropical cocktails and a front-row view of the Pacific toward Lānaʻi and Molokaʻi.
The restaurant has two levels. Upstairs, the dining room focuses on line-caught fish delivered daily, steaks and island-style plates, with tables positioned toward the water. Downstairs, the casual Beach Bar opens onto the sand, where swimmers drift in for poke, fish tacos, burgers and rum drinks. Save room for Hula Pie, the towering macadamia nut ice cream pie with chocolate fudge that is a signature across the TS group. Current offerings are posted on the official menu page.
Visitor Highlights & Practical Info
Sunset is the busiest time of day, so book the upstairs dining room ahead and request an oceanfront table. To pay less and avoid the dinner rush, go for Aloha Hour in the Beach Bar, listed as Monday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Confirm the schedule before you go. Lunch is usually calmer. Whalers Village has paid parking, and the shops validate parking with a purchase. The Kāʻanapali Beachwalk makes it easy to walk over from nearby resorts. Puʻu Kekaʻa (Black Rock), a popular snorkeling spot, is a short walk north along the sand.
