Miniaturk is one of the world’s largest open-air miniature parks, spread along the Golden Horn in Istanbul since it opened in 2003. The park displays more than 130 scale models, at 1:25 scale, of landmarks from across Turkey and the wider Ottoman world, including Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, the Bosphorus Bridge, and the ancient city of Ephesus.
Walkways wind between the models, most set against small landscaped gardens or reflecting pools, so a visit doubles as a relaxed waterside stroll. Signage at each model gives historical context, making it a popular stop for families and anyone wanting a quick overview of Turkey’s architectural highlights before or after visiting the real sites.
The park is wheelchair accessible throughout, and photography is permitted at every model, so it’s an easy, unhurried outing rather than a rushed sightseeing stop.
