Jaigarh Fort is a hilltop fortress overlooking Amber Fort near Jaipur, built in 1726 by Sawai Jai Singh II to protect the Amber Palace complex.
The fort houses the Jaivana cannon, the largest wheeled cannon ever cast, along with armories, water reservoirs, and sweeping views across the Aravalli hills to Jaipur’s Pink City.
Jaigarh Fort is open daily from 9 AM to 6:30 PM, with last entry around 6 PM. Arriving a few hours before closing allows time to explore the ramparts unhurried.
