Parc Lalla Hasna is a free, landscaped public garden at the edge of Marrakesh’s medina, laid out directly beside the Koutoubia Mosque and a short walk from Jemaa el-Fna. Named for Princess Lalla Hasna and opened in 2016 as part of the city’s preparations for the COP22 climate summit, it draws visitors who want shade, open views of the minaret, and a quiet pause between medina errands.
Wide paved paths run between rows of palm trees, clipped hedges, rose beds and orange trees. Fountains and shallow water features cool the air, and benches line the walkways. The real draw is the uninterrupted view of the 12th-century Almohad Koutoubia minaret, which looks especially striking at golden hour. Families picnic on the lawns, locals stroll after work, and the call to prayer carries clearly across the gardens. The park sits close to the excavated foundations of the original Koutoubia mosque, adding historical context to an easy walk.
