The Flower Dome is the larger of the two cooled conservatories at Gardens by the Bay, on the Marina Bay waterfront. Guinness World Records named it the world’s largest glass greenhouse in 2015. Its column-free shell, designed by WilkinsonEyre, keeps a mild, dry climate that lets plants from the Mediterranean and other semi-arid regions grow in tropical Singapore.
Inside, nine gardens follow the terrain of cool-dry regions worldwide, including the Baobabs and Bottle Trees, Succulent Garden, Australian, South African and South American gardens, and an Olive Grove with gnarled trees more than a century old. The centrepiece is the Flower Field, a rotating floral display that changes several times a year, with tulips, cherry blossoms and festive themes among past showcases. The air is noticeably cool, so bring a light layer if you plan to linger (source: [Gardens by the Bay](https://www.gardensbythebay.com.sg/en/things-to-do/attractions/flower-dome.html)).
Visitor Highlights & Practical Info
Arrive soon after opening on a weekday for the quietest paths. Weekends, school holidays and new floral launches draw the heaviest crowds. Combined tickets also cover the neighbouring Cloud Forest, and buying online saves queueing time. The domes close on scheduled maintenance days, so check the [official opening hours page](https://www.gardensbythebay.com.sg/en/plan-your-visit/opening-hours.html) before you go. To get there, take the MRT to Bayfront station and follow the underground linkway from Exit B. Afterwards, stay for the evening Garden Rhapsody light show at Supertree Grove.
