The Royal Castle in Warsaw is a 14th-century residence rebuilt after near-total destruction in World War II, now home to a major art and history museum in the heart of the Old Town.
The palace once housed Polish kings and the Sejm, and in 1791 it hosted the signing of Europe’s first modern constitution. Guided tours move through the Great Assembly Hall, Senators’ Chamber, Marble Room, and royal apartments, with a collection that includes works by Rembrandt and Canaletto’s panoramic 18th-century views of Warsaw that later guided the postwar reconstruction.
The museum operates Tuesday through Sunday, with tickets sold in timed 20-minute entry slots, so arriving early or booking ahead is worthwhile in peak season.
